feed 4Whole Foods Market Laguna Niguel has chosen South County Outreach as the recipient of its Feed 4 More program. The market will provide an estimated $25,000 in non-perishable food to help stock the South County Outreach food pantry by collecting cash donations at the store.  The program starts Nov. 1 and runs through the end of the month.

Feed 4 More is an annual community program sponsored by Whole Foods Market and supported by customers who donate funds at the register to help purchase food to supply charities working to fight hunger. South County Outreach will receive the donation –approximately 10-15 pallets of food – in January, a time of year when it is challenging to keep the shelves stocked for local families in need.

“We are thrilled to be a recipient of this year’s Whole Foods Market Feed 4 More program,” said Renee Stevenson, director of operations at South County Outreach.  “Feeding local people in crisis is a year-round job. This will help sustain us through the months when donations typically slow down. We are proud to be part of Whole Foods national program working to fight hunger in our communities.”

Each month the South County Outreach food pantry serves more than 3,000 Orange County residents who are unable to afford to feed themselves and their families. The agency serves seniors, veterans, disabled persons, families, unemployed and under-employed people. Approximately 45% of South County Outreach clients are children.

Please support South County Outreach by shopping at Whole Foods Market Laguna Niguel and donating at the register.
