South County Outreach and Someone Cares OC (formerly Someone Cares Soup Kitchen) are working together through a new collaborative management relationship designed to strengthen Someone Cares OC’s operations and support its continued service to the Costa Mesa community.
The relationship brings together two Orange County organizations with a shared commitment to addressing food insecurity. Someone Cares OC brings 40 years of history, relationships and compassionate service in Costa Mesa, while South County Outreach brings more than 30 years of nonprofit leadership, operational and food-assistance expertise.
Through the collaboration, South County Outreach’s leadership and management team is working alongside Someone Cares OC’s staff and board, providing hands-on support in areas including day-to-day operations, financial management, human resources, fundraising, strategic planning and organizational development.
Together, the organizations are building on what Someone Cares OC has established over four decades, strengthening the systems behind its work and supporting its ongoing service to clients, staff, volunteers and the community.
For South County Outreach, the relationship reflects a longstanding belief that addressing complex challenges like hunger requires organizations to work together, share expertise and look beyond traditional organizational boundaries. By bringing together the strengths of both organizations, South County Outreach and Someone Cares OC can help build a stronger network of hunger-relief services across Orange County.
South County Outreach remains fully committed to its existing clients, programs, partners and communities. This work is an extension of its mission and another way to help ensure Orange County residents experiencing food insecurity have access to effective, dignified and sustainable support.
