Fox 11 Good Day LA visited South County Outreach’s Food Market with Bob DeCastro and LaVal Brewer, SCO President & CEO to talk about how so many Californians will be losing important food benefits this March, just as the price of food is skyrocketing. With what experts are calling an impending “Food Cliff” in Orange County, many are worried that those who are already experiencing food insecurity will be the ones most heavily impacted and feeling the longest effects.

Good Day spent the morning speaking with our team, including Xitlaly Luna, SCO Volunteer Manager, on ways the community can support SCO and get involved; Nancy, long-time Food Market volunteer who shares her day-to-day experience serving clients from all walks of life; and Manuel, a College Corps Fellow from Concordia University in Irvine, CA on his experience working in the Food Market with those facing food insecurity and how his role as a College Corps Fellow impacts his college and professional life.
