Last week, South County Outreach welcomed 220 guests to celebrate our sold out 2022 Empty Bowls Event at the Segerstrom Shelby Event Center. Thanks to your support, we exceeded our fundraising goal with a record-breaking $179,000 raised!
“Our first in-person event in the last few years, this year’s Empty Bowls fundraiser was truly one to remember and exceeded all our expectations, and fundraising goals,” says LaVal Brewer President and CEO of South County Outreach. “To come back together after all this time and have several of our supporters and friends in the same space made for an impactful and unforgettable experience. We are honored and exceptionally grateful for all of the attendees, sponsors and volunteers whose unwavering support was exceptionally apparent at the event.”
Emceed by Henry DiCarlo, AMS Meteorologist and Sportscaster for the KTLA Morning News, the event featured food and soup tastings as well as wine pairingsin collaboration with locally renowned chefs and restaurants including Bracken’s Kitchen, FKN Bread, Taylor Made Cuisine and Trevor’s At The Tracks. Additionally, guests enjoyed live music from Brandt Jacobus during cocktail hour hosted in the organization’s food pantry.
Guests received a handmade ceramic bowl, which served as a reminder of how they have helped fill the empty bowls of their Orange County neighbors by attending the impactful event.
These funds will greatly benefit South County Outreach’s programs that feed and house thousands in need each year and will help us continue to house hope and end hunger in Orange County.
