In addition to monetary donations, food donations, volunteers and office equipment and supplies, we often have some special and specific needs so we’ve put them on our wish list. Please help if you can by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling 949-380-8144 (unless otherwise specified below).
Here is our current wish list:
CHILDREN’S BOOKS: We like to offer our littlest clients books to keep them busy while their parents are filling out paperwork or receiving services. It’s nice to give them something to take home and to encourage reading. Please bring in new or gently used children’s books.
WELCOME KIT: Help us make our new housing clients feel welcome in their new homes by donating a bucket full of cleaning supplies and necessities.
PEANUT BUTTER: This is a favorite – and a great source of protein – but we’re running low in the food pantry. Please include peanut butter in your summer food donation.
HANDYMAN: Do you know your way around a tool box? Are small repair jobs a piece of cake for you? We need your help! We are looking for a volunteer handyman.
FILE CABINET: We have many client records that we want to keep safe and secure. We are in need of a fireproof filing cabinet and would appreciate a donation.
COMPUTER INSTRUCTORS: Almost 500 people learn new job skills in our computer lab each year. We’d like to add Access classes and are looking for volunteer instructors for that program as well as QuickBooks.
SET OF TIRES: One of our clients needs new tires for a Ford Taurus. Please let us know if you can help so these people who are working hard to get back on their feet have reliable transportation to get to work.
BAGS FOR FOOD PANTRY: Grocery bags are needed in our food pantry. If you have a business that can donate bags, or if you have extra bags at home, please be a Hunger Hero and help our clients get their food home. Stop by 7 Whatney, Ste. B, Irvine, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. weekdays to drop off your donations.
GOOD-QUALITY CAMERA: We want to keep our supporters informed about what’s happening at South County Outreach and our work to prevent hunger and homelessness. Please help by donating a nice camera so we can share good photos and document our programs.
JEWELRY DONATIONS: Out thrift store, Upscale Resale, is running short of jewelry – one of the most popular items in the shop. We love your fine and fancy items as well as costume jewelry. Upscale Resale is our only self-generating source of revenue and proceeds help fund our programs. If you can help, please call Upscale Resale at 949-855-4158, or drop off donations at the store, 23501 Ridge Route, Ste. G, Laguna Hills.
CANNED CHICKEN: We love being able to offer protein to clients who depend on our pantry for emergency food. Canned chicken is a favorite – it flies off the shelves, especially in the summer when kids are out of school and parents need to provide additional meals.
STORAGE SPACE: We are in need of storage near our offices in south Irvine – 7 Whatney, Suite B – to store supplies. Space in a warehouse or storage facility would be ideal.
