On Sunday, October 7 we hosted all of our volunteers to come enjoy a lunch by Rockfire Grill, a raffle presented by Upscale Resale, and a time to thank them for their hours and dedication. It was full of so much togetherness and joy! In 2017, our volunteers put in over 44,792 hours of work.

Volunteers Esther and Marian laugh with our Director of Operations, Renee at the luncheon.

The theme this year was “Volunteers are an essential piece of our puzzle” and it was super well-received! We had tables covered in puzzle pieces, homemade DIY pumpkins donated by Tanaka Farms (painted and decorated by our volunteer manager Amy), and swag for every volunteer in the form of a special 2019 calendar!

One of our volunteers modeling the 2019 calendar! It looks good on him.
Our goodies at every table!

Rockfire Grill brought in lunch — delicious pastas, bread, and salad that left the room quiet as everyone enjoyed it. Also, raffle baskets themed for Halloween, movie nights, Thanksgiving, and more were passed out to raffle winners. We had a trivia game as well that left many long time volunteers stumped! Everyone loved getting involved, laughing, and connecting with each other.

Yum! Rockfire Grill provided delicious pastas and salad!
Look at all the raffles!
We love our volunteers!

We ended the luncheon with a tribute video and a group photo! Thanks again to all of our volunteers – without you, we would not be able to end hunger and homelessness in Orange County. Here’s to another year!
